A little victory with my corner miters today

After so many tries, I cut them cleanly without any fraying. It made the whole book look so much sharper.

Totally get what tyler6 said about the corner snapping into focus. My own miter adventures usually involve more cussing than cutting. I once had a piece fray so bad it looked like I tried to cut it with a spoon. But when you finally get that clean joint, it's like the wood gods smiled on you for a second. Makes all the sanding and redoing worth it. I'm just glad my failures are mostly hidden on the inside of projects.

Oh man I know exactly what you mean. I was wrestling with that same fraying issue on a box project last week and it drove me crazy. Once I finally got the cut right and that corner closed up tight with no gap, it was like the whole thing just snapped into focus. Makes all the difference between looking handmade and looking professional. That clean line is so satisfying.

Sloppy joints have more heart than perfect ones.
