Vent: That classic sci-fi book I dismissed actually blew my mind
I was always that person who rolled their eyes at Dune. Everyone hyped it up so much I figured it was just old-fashioned nonsense with a boring desert setting. Then my book club picked it for our May read and I almost skipped the meeting. But I gave it 50 pages and suddenly I couldn't put it down. The politics, the ecology, the way Paul's story gets so complicated - it completely hooked me. My buddy Jason kept saying 'just wait until the sandworms' and I finally get it now. The writing is dense but once you get into the rhythm it's incredible. Has anyone else been totally wrong about a classic book that everyone loves?

Same thing happened to me with that book, I thought it was overrated until I actually sat down and read it.

Have you actually read through it cover to cover? The way it breaks down human behavior and the little patterns we all fall into is kinda wild. There are specific chapters that made me rethink how I handle disagreements completely.
