Vent: My book club wasted $80 on a 'curated' reading box

We got this fancy subscription box with snacks and props for a historical novel, but the book was a boring mess and the snacks were stale. Has anyone else gotten burned by those book-themed subscription kits?

Got one of those for my wife's birthday last year. Cost like $70 and came with a "handpicked" thriller and some candles that smelled like cheap soap. The book was so poorly written I couldn't get past page 50, and the "gourmet snacks" were basically off-brand crackers and a tiny bag of trail mix that tasted like it was from 2019. Total waste of money. Feels like these companies just throw together whatever leftover crap they have and slap a fancy label on it.
