Spent 3 hours arguing over whether the main character was a unreliable narrator or just confused
My book club spent our whole March meeting debating if the narrator in *The Silent Patient* was purposely lying or just didn't remember things right. I kept saying he was unreliable from page one but two other members pushed back hard. We never actually agreed on it after three hours of going back and forth. Has anyone else had a debate like that where you just couldn't settle it?

Oh man, yes! My book club spent two entire meetings on Gone Girl going back and forth about Amy. I was in the "she's completely unreliable" camp and my friend swore she was just "misunderstood." We never agreed either. It is so frustrating when nobody will budge!

Nobody's talking about what she did to the neighbor lady's cat. That's the one detail that made me stop trying to justify anything about her.

Three hours on one question? At some point you just gotta move on and pick another book. Not everything needs to be solved like a math problem.
