Our book club split over whether to finish a 900 page novel or bail at page 300
Last month my Tuesday night club in Sacramento picked a 900 page novel and by our second meeting only 3 of the 8 of us had actually finished it. We argued for 45 minutes about whether finishing a book you hate counts as dedication or just stubbornness, and we ended up voting 5 to 3 to drop it and move on to something shorter. Has your group ever bailed on a pick mid-read, and did anyone get mad about it?
