Found a stat about rereading books that caught me off guard

I was scrolling through a reader survey from BookBub last night and saw that 67% of people say they never reread books. That blew my mind because my book club just spent 3 months debating whether The Great Gatsby holds up on a second read. Anyone else find that rereading changes your whole take on a book?

One read is enough for most books.

and it's not just books either, right? i've noticed people treat movies and shows the same way. like they'll watch something once and say "i liked it" or "i didn't" and that's that. but for me, a second read or watch picks up on stuff you miss the first time. like when i reread gatsby i caught how weak nick actually is as a narrator, all those little cracks in his story. it's kind of like life where you think you know someone but then a second conversation totally flips everything.
