That one week at the old power plant still sticks with me

Back in '09 I was on a job at an old coal plant outside of Gary, Indiana. We had a week where everything went right, which almost never happens in this trade. We fitted a new boiler section in three days flat, no rework, no fighting with bad drawings. The steam fitter we were working with brought in a fresh pot of coffee every morning, which felt like a luxury... Has anyone else had a job where the stars just aligned like that?

Stop right there. Peoria? I've heard those old boiler rooms in central Illinois are nothing but trouble, everyone I know who's worked on them has a horror story. You're telling me you actually had one go smooth as butter, like the stars finally aligned or something? That's wild, I honestly didn't think that was possible.

And that's the thing, when it goes that smooth you almost get suspicious right? Like you're waiting for the other shoe to drop but it never does. I swear those perfect jobs are so rare they feel like a fever dream afterwards.
