That 2am phone call from a green apprentice still haunts me
He called from the jobsite in Gary, Indiana after I'd been asleep for three hours, asking if he could skip the hydro test because the gauges were reading fine, and I told him a gauge can lie when a weld is cold, and sure enough he was about to send 90 pounds of steam through a joint that cracked like glass, has anyone else had a close call from someone rushing a test that way?
