So tired of people torquing bolts in the wrong order on flanges

I was helping a crew on a 24 inch flange job last Tuesday and watched three guys snug down the bolts clockwise in a circle, which left the gasket pinched hard on one side. The written procedure on the wall clearly says cross pattern in three passes, but nobody reads it until the joint leaks during hydro test. Have any of you found a quick way to get new guys to actually follow the torque sequence without babysitting them the whole time?
