Showerthought: do you trust a boilermaker who never had a hot job go bad on him?
Last Tuesday we were rolling a 60 inch drum at the shop in Gary and a guy with 4 years in swore the fit up was fine until we hydro tested it and watched a pinhole weep for 20 minutes. So which builds a better hand, a clean record or a couple of bad days you had to own?
But here's the thing... do we actually learn from them or do we just tell ourselves that so it doesn't sting as much? I've made the same dumb mistake more than once, so clearly the lesson didn't stick the first time around. Maybe the real trick is having somebody point it out to you before you go and do it again. What was the screwup that finally made something click for you?
