Said tube rolling by hand was dead, then a 62 year old hand showed me his arms
I laughed when a guy on our Indy job said he still rolls 2 inch boiler tubes by hand instead of using the hydraulic expander, because I figured that was just old timer pride talking. He bet me 50 bucks he could do 12 tubes in the same time it took me to set up and dial in the machine, and he finished in 40 minutes while my rig was still warming up, arms looking like fire hoses the whole time. So now I'm wondering, is anybody else still doing hand rolling on small tube counts, or am I the only one who got humbled on his own job site?
