My foreman told me to skip the pre-heat on that 2-inch carbon steel pipe
He said it was thin enough and we were behind schedule, but the weld cracked after a week of pressure testing. I mean, I should have known better, but the rush got to me. Anyone run into something like this on a tight deadline?

Classic foreman math, where an hour of pre-heat somehow costs more than three days of rework and a failed pressure test. Bet his schedule looks real good now.

Guess it's not the end of the world. Seen way worse hold with a bad weld. Just get it fixed and move on.

Yeah but what's the REAL cost of that rush now, with the rework? @olivia_allen is right it's fixable, but did your foreman own up to pushing you to skip it?
