Hit 200 welds without a single grind-back today, still can't believe it
I've been a boilermaker for 12 years and never had a day that clean. Every bead laid down perfect on a 3/8-inch vertical plate at the refinery job we're on. Anybody else ever get a streak that caught you off guard?

Man, that's wild! My buddy Tony, he's a pipefitter not a boilermaker, told me about a day on a job up in North Dakota where he laid out like 150 inches of 6-inch schedule 80 without a single tack needing to be redone. He said his inspector was so stunned he just stood there staring for a minute. Felt like he was on autopilot the whole shift, beads dropping in perfect like it was a machine doing it. You had that kind of flow today too?

Funny enough, I had a day like that a few months back on a 10-inch steam line at a plant near Houston. I was running beads and every pass just flowed - no grinding, no rework, just clean metal. It was 8 hours of that autopilot feeling where you almost don't think about your hand moving. The inspector walked up, checked the first three welds with his gauge, and just nodded. He didn't say a word, just wrote it down and moved on, which is the highest praise you can get from those guys. Your buddy Tony's story sounds just like what I felt - when the rhythm clicks, it's like time speeds up and slows down at the same time. I hope you got that same rush, it's a rare thing to hold onto.
