Vent: My fancy new card sleeves were slippery and ruined the whole game night

Bought a pack of those premium matte sleeves for my deck builder. Thought they'd be the upgrade my game needed. First shuffle and the whole tower collapsed into a mess. Cards sliding everywhere. Took 10 minutes just to sort them back into order. What I learned is that some sleeves need a break in period or a quick rub down with a cloth. Wasted $12 on these things. Anyone else had sleeves that were too slick right out the pack?

Spilled my coffee trying to grip a too-smooth sleeve during a game of Dominion last weekend. The whole stack slid off the table and landed in the cup. Had to dry each card off with a paper towel and some of them started peeling at the corners. My buddy just laughed and handed me his old worn out penny sleeves instead.

@kim963 I actually like the slip of penny sleeves, helps me shuffle way faster.
