Three game nights in a row ruined by that one guy who can't stop quarterbacking

Happened at my buddy's place in Austin. We're playing Dead of Winter. Every turn, Kevin's telling people what to do. Where to move. What cards to play. Took the fun right out. I finally snapped after round 4. Told him to let people play their own turns. He got quiet. Rest of the night was awkward. Has anyone else had to shut down an overbearing player without making it weird?

Did you try a house rule like "no advice unless asked"?

Man I mean is it really that deep? It's just a board game, feels like people get way too worked up over this stuff sometimes.

Right?! I was in a game night last week where someone literally flipped the table because somebody accidentally moved their token two spaces instead of one. It was just Monopoly, not a life or death situation, you know? I get that people get excited but some folks act like losing at Sorry! is a personal insult to their family honor. Like, chill out, it's cardboard and plastic pieces at the end of the day.
