The dice odds chart at my FLGS made me question every game night I've hosted

So last Friday I was killing time at my local store in Portland and noticed they had a laminated chart taped to the table showing the probability of rolling each number with 2d6. I always knew 7 was the most common, but seeing the actual percentages laid out, like 16.67% for 7 versus 2.78% for 2 or 12, hit me different. It made me realize I've been subtly biased in how I balanced my custom dice game, giving too much weight to high numbers. I went home and recalculated my whole encounter table using that chart, and now the rare results feel way more special. Has anyone else used probability math to tweak their homebrew rules, or do you just wing it for fun?

Holy crap, same thing happened to me with my loot table, and now those crazy rare drops finally feel worth it!

Actually the drop rates only feel better because they changed the loot table order. The rare items were always in there, they just got buried under tons of junk rolls. Now the game checks for them earlier in the sequence, so you see them way more often. Same odds, different feel. It's a sneaky trick, but it works. Kind of wish they'd just boost the actual rates though.
