PSA: I swore solo board gaming was sad, then a guy at a Denver cafe walked me through Spirit Island
For a long time I thought playing board games by yourself was just a way to feel lonely with extra steps. About 8 months ago I sat down at a cafe on South Pearl Street and watched a guy set up Spirit Island alone, and he talked me into one game. Three hours later I got it, because you're basically solving a puzzle where the rules fight back and nobody is waiting on your turn. I still love game night with friends, but my solo shelf is now bigger than my group shelf. What game finally sold you on playing alone, or are you still not into it?
