My copy of Castles of Burgundy survived a coffee spill thanks to a shoebox trick

Last Saturday at a friend's game night in Portland, someone knocked over a mug right next to the board. I jumped up and grabbed the empty shoebox I keep in my car for hauling games, slid the board and all the tiles inside within seconds. The coffee only got the tablecloth and a few corners of the box, zero damage to the pieces. I learned that trick from an old forum post about transporting fragile miniatures, and it paid off big. Has anyone else used a random household container as a quick emergency shield during a spill?

Wait, you keep a shoebox in your car just for hauling games? That's some next level prep, I'm genuinely impressed lol.
