Bought a $60 dice tower and it fell apart in two weeks
The thing was pure cardboard with a plastic tray, and my group's first critical hit celebration knocked the whole top piece loose, so has anyone else gotten burned by fancy accessories that can't handle real table use?

...and honestly that tracks with what I saw in a tabletop review roundup last month. They tested like a dozen dice towers under $100 and most of them were basically glorified craft projects. The cardboard ones all failed at the joints pretty fast, especially if anyone at the table has heavy hands or gets excited. I get wanting something cool on the table, but it feels like everything under that price point is made for looks, not actual play.

Take the "buy nice or buy twice" rule we all learn from cheap cookware and power tools, @paigep20, and dice towers are just another version of that trap. The mid-range stuff under $100 is all marketing photos and thin plastic, but once you cross that weird price line, the build quality flips completely. Feels like every hobby has that sweet spot where you stop paying for looks and start paying for something that won't fall apart on a Tuesday night.
