My dad made me mow the lawn with a push mower at noon in July, and I do it now on purpose
He said gas was too expensive for a rider and that a little sweat built character, so I pushed that thing around a half acre in Georgia heat for 3 summers. Now I do my own yard at 1pm with a $40 push mower and honestly it takes 25 minutes and I kind of get it. Did your parents have a weird rule that you ended up keeping?
Did your parents ever do something that felt like punishment back then but turned into a life habit you actually like? It's funny how the stuff we swore we'd never do as kids ends up being the thing that grounds us as adults.
