I finally tallied up what I wasted on those meal kit delivery boxes
Honestly I jumped on the meal kit bandwagon back in 2021 because I thought it would save me time and teach me to cook better. Over about 8 months I spent nearly $1,200 on HelloFresh and Blue Apron boxes. The problem was half the produce went bad by day 3 and I ended up throwing out at least 4 or 5 meals total from each box. Plus the packaging was insane like a cardboard mountain every week that made me feel guilty about recycling. Now I just plan my dinners on Sunday using a simple notepad app and my grocery bill dropped to like $80 a week. Has anyone else done the math on those subscription boxes and regretted it?

Add the Sunday meal prep to your routine and it gets even better. I do the same thing and spend about the same amount now and my fridge is actually usable during the week instead of being a science experiment.

I spent like $90 on a fancy herb garden kit and only managed to keep the basil alive for two weeks before it turned into a science experiment too.
