Hit 100 consecutive days of flossing because of one hygienist's joke

Back in March, a hygienist in Cincinnati told me my gums looked like 'a teenager who doesn't care about prom.' She laughed but it stuck with me. Now I'm 100 days straight, but has anyone else had a random comment from a stranger actually fix a bad habit?

...and honestly that's kind of the thing with habits, right? One stupid little comment that hits just right can flip a switch in your brain. I had a cashier at a gas station tell me I looked "tired like my dog ran away" one time, and it made me actually start sleeping more. Not because she was mean, but because it was so random and true it just stuck. So yeah, sometimes the weirdest thing from a stranger is the kick you need.

Keep it simple, right? That comment about your gums was hilarious but true. I had a guy at the gym tell me I ran like a "zombie trying to catch a bus" one time. It was so dumb but I started working on my form the next day. Sometimes people just see something we ignore about ourselves. That little push is all it takes.
