The difference in my anvil rebound after a proper mounting
I had my anvil sitting on a wobbly stand for years, then last month I finally bolted it down to a solid oak stump with some silicone underneath. The rebound on my 150 lb anvil went from dead to almost 80%, it's like a whole different tool. Has anyone else seen that big a jump from just fixing the base?

Went from dead to almost 80%" sounds like a stretch. Physics don't work that way. The anvil's mass and face condition determine rebound way more than a base. Sure, a wobbly stand eats some energy, but 80% rebound on a 150 pounder is already good without any mounting change. I bet you just got used to it or the silicone changed something else. Maybe the anvil wasn't seated flat before, so now you're hitting a solid point instead of rocking. But a jump that big? That's marketing talk, not real numbers.
