Just hit 2000 decorative scrolls in one year and my wrist is screaming

Been running my own little shop out of my garage for about a year now. I counted up all the scrolls I did for gates, railings, and custom orders and it came out to 2,008. That number blew my mind because I started this just for side cash, never expected to do that much. My wrist has been killing me from all the twisting and hammering, anyone else get that from repetitive scroll work?

Nah, you're doing that backwards. If your wrist is screaming after 2000 scrolls, that's a you problem not a tool or technique problem. You're probably gripping too hard or swinging the hammer wrong. I know a guy who did 3000 scrolls in 8 months with no wrist pain because he actually learned proper body mechanics instead of just brute forcing it. Hand cramps and wrist pain happen when you're fighting the metal instead of working with it. Maybe slow down and think about your setup before you end up needing surgery. Sounds like you're going too fast and not taking breaks.

Nah man, that_morgan is totally right. I did around 2500 scrolls last year and my wrist was fine until I started rushing and gripping too tight. Once I chilled out and focused on my grip and hammer swing, the pain stopped. You're probably overworking the joint just from being excited about the volume. Redoing your setup and taking real breaks made a huge difference for me. Don't just push through it or you'll mess yourself up for good.

Honestly 3000 scrolls in 8 months? That's wild, @the_morgan's buddy must have robot wrists or something. Tbh I can barely keep up with 200 without my hand cramping up like crazy. Ngl that kind of output sounds almost unbelievable if he really didn't feel a thing.
