Started binge-watching with my SO, now it's all arguments

Totally kills the mood for me.

Man, I actually have the opposite experience! Those little debates about what's going to happen next are half the fun for me. It feels like we're more into the story when we're both yelling at the TV with different theories. Sure, sometimes we get heated, but it always leads to a good talk after. It makes the whole watching thing feel like something we're doing together, not just sitting next to each other.

Robin saying those debates are half the fun, I get it but that sounds exhausting. Yelling at the TV with different theories isn't fun, it's just loud. My ex and I tried that with a mystery show and it turned into a whole thing about who was smarter for guessing the killer. We stopped talking for an hour over something stupid. That's not bonding, it's just adding more fights to your day. Give me quiet watching any time.

Understand how that can ruin the whole vibe. My partner and I used to get into it over shows all the time, and it just made watching feel like a chore. Seeing @robin_lee talk about enjoying the debates is cool for them, but it doesn't work for everyone. For me, TV time should be relaxing, not another thing to fight about. I had to learn to just let go of needing to be right about plot points. Now we stick to lighter shows when we watch together, and it's way better.
