Overheard someone at the library say they skip the last episode of every series

I was grabbing a DVD and this lady tells her friend she never watches finales because they always disappoint. Made me think about how many shows I finished just out of habit. Anyone else ever stop a show with one episode left?

That last episode always disappoints" is basically the story of my friend Sarah's life. She spent 3 years watching this one detective show and stopped literally 5 minutes before the finale. I asked her why and she told me she heard from someone online that the ending had a HUGE plot hole. So she just never watched it. She said it was like reading a book and stopping at the last page because you don't want the story to end badly. It honestly kind of makes sense to me now. She's way less stressed about shows than I am because she doesn't have that letdown feeling.
