Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he only watches season 1 of shows

I was grabbing a latte last week and this dude told his friend he stops after the first season because "the writers always run out of ideas." Made me wonder if I've been wasting time on shows that peaked early, anyone else bail before the finale?

Cut your losses after a bad first season, not a good one.

People get way too dramatic about TV shows. It's just entertainment. If someone wants to only watch season one because it makes them happy, who cares. The writers probably do run out of steam sometimes but so what. I've sat through entire series that were terrible by the end and I survived. Life's too short to stress about whether a show peaks or not.
