My roommate said my show picks were 'emotionally flat' and now I can't unsee it

Man, that's such a rough thing to hear. It can totally ruin your whole vibe with a show you used to love. Once someone points something like that out, you start watching everything through their lens. Is it even possible to go back to just enjoying things for what they are?

I mean, @lee72, maybe it's just me but I feel like people make too big a deal out of stuff like that. You can still enjoy a show even if you notice a flaw.
