Coworker ruined a show for me in one sentence

I was telling my trainer buddy about a huge twist in a drama I was binging, and she just goes, "oh, that character dies in season 3." It wasn't even a current season spoiler, she read the book. Now I can't stop thinking about it every time the character is on screen, 4 episodes later. Has anyone else had a spoiler like that just stick with you and ruin the whole ride?

Honestly you're lucky she told you. Now you get to watch the whole season looking for the clues, noticing all the little things that point to it. That's way more interesting than just sitting there clueless like everyone else. I had someone spoil a murder mystery for me and it made the show ten times better because I was watching the killer's every move instead of being surprised. You should thank her, not blame her.

Watching it "clueless" is the whole point of a mystery, so knowing the ending just ruins the ride for you.
