Switched to wet chain lube after 10 years of dry and it's night and day

I used to be a die hard dry lube fan, thought wet stuff was just a sticky mess. Then I took a job rebuilding a commuter bike that was rode in the rain every day for a whole winter in Portland. The difference in chain wear was crazy, the wet lube bike's chain barely stretched compared to my own bike. I finally tried it myself last month and my drivetrain is way quieter and stays cleaner than I thought. Anybody else have a lube brand they swear by for wet weather riding?

@felix147 nailed it about Portland being a drivetrain killer. Switched to Muc-Off wet lube on my commuter last fall and the difference in chain stretch after one winter was actually measurable. Dry lube just washes off too fast in real rain.

Portland rain is no joke. That city basically tests everything mechanical to its breaking point. It's like people who swear by wax chains in dry conditions until they hit one muddy gravel ride. We all get stuck in our ways thinking one size fits all. Then reality smacks you in the face with a stretched out chain. You learn real quick that conditions dictate everything, not brand loyalty. Glad you found the switch working for you.
