I finally had a good day after a brutal week of stripped bolts

Last Tuesday was the worst. Three bikes came in with seized seatposts and one with a stripped crank arm bolt. Fought it for six hours with extractors and heat. Then Thursday morning, the first job of the day was a simple cable swap on an old commuter. Everything just clicked. Proper cable housing, clean ferrule fit, brake pulled smooth first try. Client even said, "That feels better than new." Made me forget the crap days. Has anyone else had a week where one easy job saved the whole grind?

My buddy Dave runs a repair shop over in Millbrook. He had a week where every single frame he touched had a stuck bottom bracket, snapped derailleur hanger, the works. Then Friday afternoon some kid walks in with a rusty beach cruiser, just wants the chain put back on. Dave had it done in under two minutes, kid handed him a crumpled five and said "you're a wizard." Dave told me that five dollar bill made his whole week... he actually taped it to his toolbox. Sometimes it ain't about the big jobs, it's just about one small win that reminds you why you do this.
