Bacon grease or Teflon paste on pedal threads? I switched and saw a difference.

I always used anti-seize on pedal threads. Worked fine. New customer brought in a set of Shimano pedals last month. He insisted on Teflon paste instead. Said his old mechanic swore by it. I gave it a shot. The Teflon paste was way cleaner. No black gunk everywhere. Felt smoother threading in too. Anyone else swap and notice a change? Or stick with the old stuff?

Funny you mention that... buddy of mine runs a shop up in Portland. He swore by bacon grease for years. Said it was all his grandpa used and he never had a seized pedal. Then he got a carbon frame customer who pitched a fit about it smelling like a diner. He switched to Teflon paste just to shut the guy up and never went back. Told me the paste just feels... cleaner somehow. Less messy, less sticky fingers after.
