A customer in Dallas said my shop's repair estimate was 'honest' and it threw me off
I quoted him $85 for a full drivetrain clean and new chain, and he said most shops would have tried to sell him a whole new groupset. It made me realize how many people expect to be upsold on unnecessary work. Do you think that expectation hurts the trade's reputation?

Normal? That's a genuinely scary thing to consider normal. The bar is in the basement if that's the standard now. We have to expect better from people.
