Wasted $40 on a magnetic phone mount that turned my dash into a sticky mess
Bought one of those cheap magnetic mounts off Amazon for my car, thought it would be a quick fix. The adhesive pad melted in the sun after two days and left this gummy residue I still can't get off. Anyone else have a dash accessory that just made things worse?

God that "gummy residue" thing is the WORST. My friend Jenny tried the same thing with one of those cheap magnetic mounts and it melted all over her dash in like a week. She spent a whole Saturday trying to scrape it off with goo gone and a plastic spatula, only to realize it had stained the vinyl too. And @morgan_ramirez, your story about peeling the paint off cracked me up, because Jenny had a hotspot mark left behind that looked like a weird sunburn on her dash. Now she just uses a vent clip one, but she says the heat melts the air freshener right into her car.
