Unpopular opinion: my $12 flip phone beat my $900 smartphone and it took me 2 years to admit it
Two years ago my smartphone screen cracked in Phoenix and I grabbed a $12 flip phone from a gas station just to get by that week. But I kept the flip phone. Calls were clear. The battery lasted 4 days. Nobody texted me dumb stuff at 2am. I almost told my brother he was wasting $900 a year to stare at a tiny TV in his pocket, but I held my tongue. Has anyone else gone back to a dumb phone and actually stayed there?
Oh man I read a whole piece about this last month. Some writer gave up her iphone for a year and said the first week was rough but then she just felt calmer. Less noise in her head.
