My coworker called my homemade lunch sad, and I almost said something I would have regretted
Last Thursday in the break room, a guy I barely talk to looked at my rice and beans and said, "that's kind of a sad lunch, huh?" I almost fired back with something about his $14 daily takeout habit, but I stopped myself. Part of me wishes I had said it, because he needs to hear that not everyone can drop $70 a week on lunch. The other part knows it would have just started a dumb fight over nothing. I keep going back and forth on whether staying quiet made me the bigger person or just a pushover. Where do you all draw the line between keeping the peace and letting someone walk on you?
