Almost told my coworker her 'hack' for organizing files was just making more work for everyone else
She spent 2 hours color-coding every single folder in our shared drive by project type, but now nobody can find anything because the colors don't match how we actually search. I bit my tongue because she was so proud of it, but I had to re-sort 30 files into proper folders after she left.

Is there any chance she color coded based on something that made sense to her personally, like how she searches for files vs how everyone else does?

Start by calling her out tomorrow morning. Pull her aside right when you both get in. Say something like "Hey I know you put real effort into that color coding thing but it actually made finding stuff harder for everyone." Tell her exactly which folders you had to re-sort. Show her the system that actually works, the one based on how people search. Don't let her double down on a bad idea just because she spent time on it. Better a quick awkward conversation now than months of everyone wasting time fighting her system.
