Almost told a guy at the DMV on Grand Ave his 'quick question' was the 12th one in line
So I was at the DMV on Grand Ave last Tuesday, ticket number C4-something, sitting there for about 90 minutes already. This older guy keeps walking up to the one open window and asking the clerk 'just a quick question' every 15 minutes, and every time she has to stop processing and answer him. The whole room of about 40 people is just staring daggers at him and you can feel the room getting annoyed. I had this whole speech ready in my head about how his quick questions were adding 20 minutes to everybody's wait and he needed to take a ticket like the rest of us. I even rehearsed the tone in my head, like not mean but real clear. Then right when I was about to actually say it out loud, he shuffles back to his seat and I see him pull out a folder with like 8 different forms in it and he starts crying quietly. Turns out he was there trying to get his late wife's car title switched over and nobody told him which line to be in. I felt like a total jerk for the speech I almost gave. Has anyone else almost popped off at a stranger and then found out the real story?
