Almost snapped at my neighbor's leaf blower at 7am, but held it in and now I need a better plan
Last Saturday at 7:15am, my neighbor fired up his leaf blower right outside my bedroom window and I had the perfect nasty line ready about his yard looking the same either way. I stood at the door with my hand on the knob for probably 30 seconds, then just made coffee and said nothing. Yesterday he did it again and I waved like an idiot. Now I keep rehearsing a firm but polite speech about quiet hours, but I know I'll chicken out again. For those who live near people like this, do you knock and say something calm, or drop a note so you don't have to watch their face?
Waving like an idiot is actually the smart play here, because a note or a speech makes you the bad guy in his story and then you're stuck living next to that. 7am is annoying but it's not 5am, so you're the one asking for the favor, not the one being wronged.
