Drove 3 hours to that famous BBQ joint in Lockhart and found a possum in the smoker

So me and my buddy drove down to Lockhart last Saturday to finally try Kreuz Market. We waited in line for like 45 minutes and when we get up to the counter the pitmaster comes out all flustered. He yells back to someone that a possum got into the back smoker overnight and they had to scrap a whole brisket. I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or ask for a discount. Has anyone else ever had an animal crash their cook like that?

OH man that's WILD. Reminds me of the time we had a raccoon sneak into the garage where my cousin was curing his homemade bacon and it just STOLE a whole slab overnight. I don't eat meat from that kitchen anymore honestly.

Stole a whole slab overnight" - yep, that tracks. Had a possum break into our camping cooler once. Took an entire pack of brats and a block of cheddar. Left nothing but the wrapper and some teeth marks. My buddy still jokes about it. But raccoons are worse. They're smart. They'll plan it out. I swear they watch you.
