Bought a $200 'competition grade' brisket injection that was basically salty water
Saw this stuff at a big BBQ show in Austin, and the guy swore it would add flavor deep into the meat. Used it on a 16-pound prime brisket for a family cookout, and it just made the whole thing taste weird and too wet. Honestly, my old mix of beef broth and a little Worcestershire works way better. Has anyone else tried those fancy injections and been let down?

What a waste of a good brisket. I got talked into a similar "pro" injection at a fair once, and it just made the meat taste like a salt lick. It's frustrating when the simple stuff you already do at home works better than some expensive gimmick.

Remember it's just a piece of meat, not a family heirloom. If a brisket gets ruined, it's a bummer for dinner but the world keeps turning. I've had some turn out way too salty too, you just shrug and make a sandwich with extra bread next time.

Actually had a great result with a competition injection last season. It gave the brisket a really consistent flavor all the way through that judges liked. Sometimes you just need to use way less than the bottle says.
