Can we talk about the guy at the Cheyenne rest stop who showed me a paper towel trick
Stopped at a rest stop off I-80 outside Cheyenne last month and the hand dryer was one of those jet engines that sounds like a plane taking off. This older guy in a bolo tie watched me stand there with wet hands for a solid 40 seconds, then walked over and pointed at the little sticker on the dryer that said 85 decibels. He pulled two paper towels, folded them once, and dabbed his hands instead of rubbing, said he drove a bus for 30 years and learned that trick after the dryers gave him ringing in his ears. I tried it and my hands were dry in about 8 seconds, no noise, no weird hot air smell. Now I notice those decibel stickers everywhere and most of them are louder than a blender. Is dabbing actually better than rubbing, or did I just get sold a story by a guy in a bolo tie?
