Rant: Recipe cards from my mom's kitchen beat scrolling any day
Trying to bake from a website now means wading through ads and personal tales. I just want the flour and sugar amounts, not someone's vacation photos.

Read an article calling those long stories "fluff" that helps websites get seen online. It's a real problem when you just need to know how much baking soda to use. Your mom's cards got straight to the point.

Totally feel that. I got lost in a novel about someone's grandma just to find out how long to steep tea.

Oh my gosh, my friend Sam tried to look up how to hard-boil eggs last week. He ended up scrolling through some blogger's whole life story about farm fresh eggs (I wish I was joking) before finding the actual steps. It totally reminded me of what you said, @julia_lee, about your mom's cards. Those old recipe cards really did cut out all the noise and just gave you what you needed. Sam said he almost gave up and just ordered takeout because it was so frustrating.
