My sourdough starter died after 2 years because I forgot it on the counter
Left my starter out overnight last Tuesday in Phoenix and it grew this fuzzy green mold that smelled like a dead animal. Has anyone else lost a starter they babied for that long to something stupid like forgetting to feed it?

Has it sunk in yet that even the things we take care of the longest can fall apart from one moment of carelessness? That's the thing about life, nothing lasts forever no matter how careful we are.
