Burned 40 loaves of banana bread on a church youth group bake sale and never looked back
I volunteered to run a bake sale at First Lutheran in Akron last spring and set 6 ovens to 375 instead of 350. Ruined $120 worth of batter in one shot. Has anyone else had a group bake go sideways because one person took over the temp settings?

Funny you mention that, because I used to be the guy who thought it didn't matter who set the oven temps as long as someone did it. Then our church had a pancake breakfast fundraiser and one well-meaning elder cranked all three ovens to 425 without telling anyone. We had blackened pancakes and half the batter was wasted. That day changed my whole view on letting more than one person handle the controls. Now I'm the designated "oven guy" and I check every temp before anything goes in. It's just one of those things that seems small until you've got a whole kitchen smelling like regret.

Oh man, that pancake smell of regret is way too real.
