The Saturday my oven thermostat died mid wedding order, 80 rolls half raw
I had 80 rolls in the oven at 5am for a wedding in Salem and the thermostat just quit, so I pulled half baked dough and guessed temps by feel with a $9 oven thermometer I found in a drawer. Has anyone else had a thermostat go out mid bake, and did you finish the order or call it?
My grandma's oven did the same thing one Thanksgiving and she just kept opening the door to poke the turkey with a fork, which of course made everything worse. We ate a very dry bird that year and nobody said a word about it.
