Spent $60 on a pro dough scraper and it either saved my bread or my bank account

Honestly, I dropped $60 on this big metal dough scraper from a fancy bakery supply store last month. On one hand, it made dividing sticky doughs way easier and I haven't burned my hands since. On the other hand, my old $5 plastic one did the same job for most of my baking. Has anyone else thrown cash at a tool that ended up feeling like a waste or a lifesaver?

Huh, you mentioning "saved my bread or my bank account" got me thinking about something else entirely. I bet that $60 scraper is actually saving you money in the long run if you bake a lot. Think about it, if you don't have to replace a cheap plastic one every few months because it cracks or gets all bent out of shape, that adds up. Plus, the metal one keeps its edge way longer, so you're not fighting with dough as much. Sounds like a good investment to me if you're serious about baking.
