Hit 100 loaves sold in a single Saturday at the Greenville farmers market and I wasn't ready for it
I've been selling sourdough at the Greenville farmers market for about 14 months now, usually moving 40 to 50 loaves on a good Saturday. Two weeks ago I pulled up with 100 loaves because my starter was going crazy and I figured why not. By 10:15am I had 12 left and people were asking if I had more in the truck. I sold out completely by 10:40 and probably turned away 30 more people. The problem is I only brought two folding tables and one cash box, so the last hour was pure chaos with people stacking up while I tried to make change and bag bread at the same time. I also ran out of paper bags at loaf 84 and had to hand people bare loaves in their own tote bags, which felt unprofessional. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should bump my regular batch to 80 and bring a helper, or if this was just a fluke from some festival downtown. Anyone else had a random spike like this and did it stick around or was it a one time thing?
