Took me four months to get my neighbor to stop parking in my spot

I live in a complex near Portland where every unit has one assigned spot. This guy in 2B started parking in mine after the first week I moved in. I left notes, talked to the landlord, even knocked on his door twice. He just told me he was gonna park where he wants because his girlfriend visits. The landlord said they couldn't do anything because it wasn't in the lease clearly. I finally had to put up a sign with a fake tow company number on it and that got him to stop after a week. Four months of fighting over a dumb parking space that took a piece of cardboard to fix. Has anyone else had to get creative just to enforce basic rules with a stubborn neighbor?

Seems like a lot of work for just a parking spot.

Measure twice, cut once I guess, but he really went all out with the measuring tape situation. @pat_schmidt60 You're not wrong, but now he's got a permanent reminder of that one time his neighbor parked two inches over the line. Honestly, digging up concrete just to prove a point is a special kind of commitment, I'll give him that. Hope he doesn't have to move or anything, because that's a lot of explaining to do to the next homeowner.

Oh man, I totally get it! I once measured my whole driveway over half an inch.
