Realized my neighbor's leaf blower at 7am was actually a fire alarm in disguise

After 4 months of getting woken up by what I thought was a jerk running his gas blower every Saturday, I finally asked him about it and he showed me his smoke detector was chirping from low battery and he didn't know how to fix it, so I swapped it out for him in 2 minutes has anyone else had a neighbor noise that turned out to be something totally innocent?

The part about the leaf blower being a fire alarm cracked me up because I spent a whole summer mad at my neighbor's "motorcycle" only to find out it was just his washing machine on spin cycle with a bad bearing.

Loud noises are just part of living near other people. You should have knocked on their door with a six-pack and asked to hear the "motorcycle" up close instead of fuming all summer. That neighbor probably had no idea you were annoyed because he couldn't hear it from inside his house. Plus, a washing machine with a bad bearing is way cheaper to fix than a Harley, so you should be grateful it wasn't a real bike running at 6am. Now you have a funny story to tell, which is more than most people get from their appliances.
